Old Boys Cricket Club was founded in the early 1920's, and has always been regarded as one of the leading clubs on the West Rand.
Jan Lotz Stadium was home to our Cricket Club for a number of years, until we moved to the Stan Friedman Sports Grounds in 1980.At that time, an amalgamation with the West Rand Cons. Cricket Club took place. This amalgamation strengthened KHOSA's player availability, and after winning most of the West Rand League trophies during the early 80's, it was decided to join the Transvaal Saturday and Sunday leagues. The split from West Rand was a major step, as the club was entered into the Johannesburg 5th leagues. However, after winning leagues in consecutive years, we gained promotion to the Premier League in 1993.
Presently the club has 2 Saturday and 5 Sunday men's sides as well as 1 Ladies side sides playing in the Gauteng leagues. On Sunday our top two sides play in the Premier A & Premier B Leagues. The club has a proud history of youth development and over the years we have had players selected to represent SA Country Districts, Tvl Country Districts and Gauteng X1 (Strikers) In addition players who moved to other provinces, went on to represent Free State, and Northern Tvl provincial teams. Clive Eksteen who captained our 1st side prior to retirement, also played for SA.
